I wanted to share a few photos from some recent trips since my last post. I’m behind on flower ID, photo editing, and as a result, writing, but given that it is near the end of flower season (and summer hiking season), that’s a good thing. I have lots of stuff to work on once the snow falls.
Thursday, I took a shortish, approximately 6-mile hike in the Hoodoos of the Alaska Range for the first time. There are some really impressive rock formations up close and really cool geology and rocks in the area. I turned back early because I got a bit apprehensive hiking on a very steep, exposed, loose, narrow ridge where the only other tracks were the grizzly tracks going in my same direction. Maybe it was because I was solo, but something about the situation turned my stomach.
I'm still working on identifying and editing wildflower photos, but I'll be done with that this weekend. In the meantime, you can see more photos from the trip in my Recent Photos Gallery as well as photos from other trips I've done in the last few months. I'll try to get some write-ups done on a few trips in the next few days as well.
Some of my favorites from the end of July
Hopefully, I’ll get some more writing done this weekend. The forecast is for more very hot and potentially smokey weather, so I’m probably going to stay inside. Thanks for reading! Until next time, have fun and stay safe!
